Bookmaker Ladbrokes have named Dave Hodgson as a 2/1 chance for beating the Conservatives in the Bedford Mayoral election due to be held on 15th October, with the Labour candidate out of the race on 10/1.

The full odds quoted by Ladbrokes (figures correct at 1pm on 15th September) at http://bit.ly/cgf6L were:

  • Parvez Akhtar (Con) 1/2

  • Dave Hodgson (LD) 2/1

  • James Valentine (Lab) 10/1

  • Apu Bagchi (Ind) 50/1

Dave Hodgson commented:

"Ladbrokes are confirming the opinion of many people here in Bedford - after great local election results in June, it is the Liberal Democrats that can beat the Conservatives here. Labour and the Independent are clearly totally out of the race."
